Following the injury, swelling in the toe may be present and could even increase in severity the longer treatment is avoided. Swelling will occur not just in the immediate area the bone has broken but throughout the entire toe and even each the edge of the forefoot. Swelling will be noticeably visible and if it has not been reduced following the injury, it is a strong indication that the bone in the toe may be broken. Swelling can be reduced by taking anti inflammatory medications or even through natural remedies which have anti inflammatory properties.
