11 Causes of COPD

3. Air pollution

Polluted air contains particulates, biological molecules and other harmful materials. Particulates are microscopic solid or liquid matter suspended in the atmosphere. Biological molecules are any molecules that are present in living organisms. Harmful materials include chemicals that are introduced into the air. Given the great number of foreign materials that can be found in polluted air, it is surprise that it can cause COPD. Because of the various combinations of materials in the air, inhaling this air can cause irritation in the respiratory track. This eventually leads to the development of COPD.
