Itchy skin is an uncontrollable and irritating sensation which urges people to scratch the affected spot endlessly. In many instances, itchy skin can be due to external factors such as extreme weather, dry conditions or too much sun exposure. To seek relief from the discomfort of itchy skin, here are some natural remedies to try.
1. Apple cider vinegar
Apple cider vinegar has an antiseptic, antifungal and antibacterial effect that is beneficial for relieving itching, especially that related to dry skin.
To apply, place a few drops of the vinegar onto a cotton ball or clean cloth and dab onto the affected skin for localized itching. Or add two to three cups of the vinegar to bathwater and soak for 15- 30 minutes. Apply a light moisturizer afterwards. Using raw, organic, unfiltered apple cider vinegar is recommended where available.
