11 Natural Remedies to Get Rid of Blackheads

2. Have a Steam Bath

Steam is great for many health aspects, but one of the most common remedies for blackheads is to use steam. Some may think that steam opens the pores, but it actually works to soften the hard, oxidized tissue entrapped in your pores. Once the pores are softened, it is significantly easier to eliminate the blackheads from within. Consider a bowl of boiling water (or a large pot) and place a towel inside to create the heat. Once it is hot enough (usually a minute or so in boiling water is sufficient), then slowly apply to the face area. Leave the towel on for about five minutes or however long you feel necessary. Be cautious when applying the towel, as the heat could cause the skin to burn if it is too hot.
