2. Cold Packs
Applying a cold pack to treat hemorrhoids is easy and can be effective to relieve symptoms. An ice pack will numb the area and can decrease inflammation and pain almost immediately. Use an ice pack or place crushed ice in a bag and wrap it in a towel. Apply it to the affected area for about twenty minutes. Consider using ice a few times a day. Avoid applying the ice directly since the cold can freeze your skin. Alternating ice packs with hot compresses may also be an option to consider.
