Diverticulosis is certainly not the best known condition you could suffer from, but it’s not uncommon. This condition is defined by the formation of pouches in the wall of your large intestine. These inflamed pouches will usually be around a centimetre wide, but often grow larger. In many people these pouches don’t cause much of a problem, but in the instance that diverticulosis becomes diverticulitis, you’ll begin to notice some problems.

Even if you’re not lactose intolerant, dairy can cause you problems with your digestion. If you suffer from diverticulosis, you should endeavour to reduce inflammation as much as you can. Amazingly, diverticulosis can also have an impact on your ability to digest lactose – so while you may not consider yourself lactose intolerant, your digestive system might not be quite as good as it could be.
When you consume dairy products, you may experience bloating and gas, and ultimately have to deal with periods of diarrhea. So, if you’re consuming dairy products, you should try and limit the amount that you eat during the week. You could even choose lactose-free dairy products like yogurt and some varieties of cheese. As for milk, almond and soy milk are a great alternative.
Remember, though, that some margarine still contains lactose in order to make it taste like butter.
