Headaches and dizziness
A body that is deficient in iron will prioritize getting oxygen to the brain before it concerns itself with other tissues, but even then individuals will experience more than usual headaches. This is because the arteries in the brain can swell triggering headaches.
At the same time individuals with a low iron count may also experience episodes of dizziness. The sensation is one of being lightheaded, unbalanced or woozy. While dizziness is a common enough symptom, it is not serious on its own. However, when experienced frequently with other symptoms of iron deficiency, it may need medical attention.
