Bad breath is a common condition that goes by the name of halitosis. While the condition can be caused by a number of reasons, the primary cause of bad breath is bacteria build up in the mouth, at the back of the tongue or between the teeth.
While maintaining good oral hygiene with practices such as regular brushing and flossing, using a mouthwash and tongue scraping are obvious ways to regulate bad breath, you can also try some at home natural remedies to treat bad breath issues. Some of these include the following:
1. Keeping Hydrated
In many instances, bad breath is often a result of a dry mouth. A dry mouth can easily become a breeding ground for bacteria so it is important to ensure that you are getting enough hydration. When the mouth does not have enough moisture, odor causing bacteria develops, so make sure to stay adequately hydrated.
If you are prone to a dry mouth then also make it a habit to frequently swish some water around the mouth as this action will temporarily dislodge bacteria and make breath more agreeable.
