11 Symptoms of Staph Infections

4. Folliculitis

When you notice a tiny, white-headed pimple at the base of your hair strands, you probably have Folliculitis—an infection of hair follicles due to physical friction or irritation (shaving) or sometimes chemical irritation of the skin.

A small area of the pimple may sometimes look red. You could feel that it is itchy and a bit painful and tender. A pus forms in the infected follicle. Normally, a mild infection of the hair follicles heals on its own within a couple of weeks. You can use a medicated shampoo or warm compress made vinegar or Burrow’s solution to alleviate the itching and cure the infection. If the infection is severe, make an appointment with your doctor
