11 Natural Remedies for Poison Oak

5. Jewel Weed

Jewel weed is a tall, green plant with yellow or orange flowers that often grows in the same areas as poison oak. The stems of the jewel weed contain a sticky sap that helps relieve the pain and itchiness caused by poison oak. The sap also helps to dry the blisters and reduce the swelling. Cut a stem, split it down the middle with a knife and gently rub the sticky sap onto the affected areas. Leave to dry, then wash off with clean, cold water. Re-apply every few hours until you have relief.
