9. Practice Good Posture
Constantly slouching can put far more strain on the neck muscles than most people realize. When the shoulders are hunched, the head automatically tilts forward putting significant strain on the neck muscles. Similarly, slouching in a chair can result in the neck muscles being strained. Walking up straight, with the abdominal muscles pulled in, results in the head being straight on top of the shoulders and eliminates muscle strain. When standing for an extended period make sure your feet are slightly apart and stand straight up with your weight evenly distributed on both feet.
